3. Baylor 2-0 (Defeated SMU 40-13). Baylor plays Rice on Friday.

The Bears played decent against a rebuilding SMU football team, even though the game was tied at halftime. Seth Russell threw for 261 yards, two touchdowns, two picks and only completed 26 of his 47 pass attempts. KD Cannon caught 10 balls for 93 yards and a touchdowns and Blake Lynch caught six passes for 95 yards and a TD. Baylor is up from 5 to 3 this week.

4. TCU 1-1 (Lost to Arkansas in double-overtime 41-38). TCU will face Iowa State next week.

Possibly one of the best games of the entire weekend. A thrilling fourth quarter was topped by two overtimes where Arkansas took the game. Kenny Hill really had a nice game, throwing for 377 yards, one touchdown and one pick. Hill also rushed for a team high 93 yards and two more TDs. But the player of the game was easily KaVontae Turpin, who caught seven passes for 126 yards and was huge in punt and kick returns. TCU is down one spot this week.

5. Oklahoma State 1-1 (Lost to Central Michigan 30-27).  OSU hosts Pittsburgh next week.

The Pokes messed around too long and let CMU back in the game. Yes, OSU should have won that game. But an error gave CMU an un-timed down and Cooper Rush took advantage on a hail mary hook and lateral. OSU played poorly on offense, going 1-11 on third down. Mason Rudolph had a very poor outing. He was high on many throws and was inconsistent. He threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns. Jalen McCleskey had a career game catching 11 passes for 103 yards and a TD. Cooper Rush was super impressive, passing for 361 yards, four touchdowns and a pick. OSU is down three spots from last weeks rankings.

6. West Virginia 2-0 (Defeated Youngstown St. 38-21). WVU is idle next week.

The Mountaineers followed up a nice win over Missouri with a decent win this week. Skler Howard passed for 389 yards, tied a career high with five TD passes and a pick. Rushel Shell rushed for 84 yards and Shelton Gibson caught six passes, two touchdowns and an impressive 171 yards. West Virginia is up a spot from last weeks rankings.

7. Kansas State 0-1 (Idle this week). K-State plays Florida Atlantic next week.

Kansas State didn’t play this week, and maybe that's a good thing. They are up a spot from the previous ranking.

8. Texas Tech 1-1 (Lost to Arizona State 68-55). Tech will play Louisiana Tech next week.

While the Red Raider offense was on fire, the defense was not. Pat Mahomes was a beast throwing for 540 yards, five touchdowns and two picks. He was also the leading rusher with just 44 yards and another touchdown. Cameron Batson caught 9 passes for 148 yards and a score. Tech is down one spot from last week.

9. Kansas 1-1 (Lost to Ohio 37-21). Kansas to play Memphis next Saturday.

The Jayhawks couldn’t get their second consecutive win this week. Montell Cozart threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns. Steven Sims Jr., caught four passes and two touchdowns.

10. Iowa State (Lost to rival Iowa 42-3). The Cyclones will be at TCU next week.

The Cyclones got beat badly by their rival Iowa this week. ISU is having a tough start to the season. Joel Lanning threw for just 86 yards and a pick while the backup Jacob Park threw for 79 yards on just 15 attempts. Mike Warren only rushed for 28 yards and Kene Nwangwu rushed for a team high 31 yards. Iowa State did not move in this weeks rankings.
